How does the multiroom function work?

The multiroom function allows you to watch the different programs from the digital pay television service in two rooms simultaneously with one subscription. This function uses the local computer network (LAN) to operate. Now everyone can enjoy their favorite programs without home conflicts. On each of the TVs, at the same time, you may be receiving another TV channel.

Note: You can use the multiroom function only within a single household. This solution supports only one slave.

Step 1. Preparation Before proceeding with configuration, make sure that the automatic assignment of addresses from DHCP works and that each device has a different MAC address. Turn on both devices and wait until they receive the correct IP address.

Step 2. Configuration of master receiver (master) Switch main receiver with pay-TV subscriber card into Master mode. To do so, go to menu> tools> CA card reader> multiroom select Master and press EXIT to save. Wait for the configuration to take a few minutes. Go to menu> system settings> other and turn on the clock in standby mode. This change is necessary in order for the multiroom service to work also when the main receiver is in standby mode.

Step 3. Configuration of the slave receiver (slave) Switch the slave to Slave mode. To do so, go to menu> tools> CA card reader> multiroom select Slave and press EXIT to save. Wait for the configuration to take a few minutes.

Exit the menu and switch the channel to start working for multiroom

Final remarks: In case of problems with operation, check the settings of the main receiver (Master). If the receiver has an IP address in the form of 000,000,000.244 or similar, then the network configuration is invalid. Probably not assigned a valid IP address with DHCP before configuration. To fix the problem, restore the factory settings and repeat step 2.

Due to the huge variety of equipment and configurations available for a single household network, Ferguson can not and will not be responsible for the malfunction of multiroom. As the so-called added value, ie not the basic purpose of the satellite receiver, multiroom function can not be the basis for complaints of the receiver.
